This Privacy Policy describes how the Martie SMS assistant ("the Service," "we," "us") handles information when you send it text messages.
Who operates the Service
The Service is operated by the Martie team. Contact: info@meetmartie.com.
Martie is a family calendar assistant reachable by SMS. Family members text Martie to check schedules, add events, and set reminders. An AI model processes the message and sends a reply by text.
Information we collect
When you text the Service, we process:
- Your mobile phone number (the sender number provided by the carrier).
- The content of the messages you send, and the replies generated in response.
- Basic technical metadata associated with handling the request (for example, timestamps and system log entries).
We do not ask for or intentionally collect names, payment details, government identifiers, or other sensitive personal information. Please do not send such information by text.
How we use the information
We use the information solely to:
- Receive your message and generate and return a reply.
- Manage your family's shared calendar.
- Send reminders you or a family member requested.
- Operate, debug, and maintain the Service.
Your phone number and message content are sent to our cloud infrastructure provider (Amazon Web Services) and to the AI model service (Amazon Bedrock) strictly to generate the reply you requested.
How the information is stored
Message content, phone numbers, and request metadata may be written to operational logs (Amazon CloudWatch Logs) for debugging and maintenance. These logs are retained only as long as needed to operate the Service and are accessible only to the Service operator.
Sharing of information
We do not sell your information. We do not share your information with third parties for their marketing or promotional purposes.
Mobile opt-in information and phone numbers are not shared with any third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
Information is processed only by the infrastructure and AI providers named above (AWS / Amazon Bedrock) acting on our behalf to deliver the Service, and by the messaging carrier (Twilio) that transmits the SMS.
Opt-out
You can stop receiving messages at any time by replying STOP. Reply HELP for help. Carrier-standard STOP/HELP keywords are honored automatically.
Children's privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13. Children in a family may use the Service with parental permission and supervision.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision.
